I’m an educational technology leader and the Chief Information Officer for Penn Manor School District. My work is guided by the belief that education is the most important human endeavor and focused on creating programs that empower and inspire students.
By aligning people, processes, and resources to achieve strategic goals, I have led the creation of an internationally recognized student help desk apprenticeship program, the design of technology systems for major capital projects like the new Penn Manor High School, and the leadership of a 5,000-student laptop learning initiative. I chronicled this journey in my book, The Open Schoolhouse, to offer a model for K-12 technology programs—a story also featured in the Red Hat Films documentary, The Power of Open In Education.
As a speaker and an adjunct Information Technology instructor at Millersville University’s Lombardo College of Business, my focus is on how artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital ethics challenge schools to rethink teaching and learning in the age of synthetic media.
