An unforgettable teacher offered me my first public speaking gig, in sixth grade. I’ve been hooked on learning ever since. Today, I am fiercely committed to empowering students through education, technology, and open source principles.

As an educational technology leader, my job is to push buttons. At Penn Manor School District, my team implemented a unique 1:1 school laptop program using free and open source software exclusively. I presented the program at TEDxLancaster, and Red Hat Films featured our extraordinary students and teachers in a beautiful documentary: The Power of Open In Education.

I love to speak on open source learning technologies, and am currently writing a book about our open schoolhouse adventures.
